Costa Rican Housing Project
This project will help to create a new house for a family that cannot afford safe housing. Housing is an important need and this group has been involved in this type of work since 1953. Your funds will buy a house! Click on the description to read more about this Christian ministry in Costa Rica. Completed!
We are a camp that houses over 30 teams that come from the States to work on mission projects that Marion has picked with help from the Costa Rican Bishop. The camp was started in 1953 by the Millers. Our purpose is to help others here in Costa Rica to become Christians by building churches, schools, and homes for the needy to show the love we have for Him.
In El Mirador we have built 28 new houses in the last 6 years and have helped with emergency needs like roofs, cement floors and patching of houses until we can build them a new one. We have built a social hall that is used for church, bible school and community activities. We raised money to have electricity put into El Mirador where before they only used candlelight for the houses and cooked with open fires. We have helped with repairing the roads that are in the community. There are about 75 families that live in El Mirador.
This project actually helped two families.
